We are going to upgrade our SQL2000 EE to SP3a.
There is one thing what I found in SP3 readme document.( if you are using
merge replication and the Distributor is located on another computer or
database instance (a remote Distributor), after applying SP3a you must
generate a new snapshot.) We do have this situation. As I tested on my test
environment, the snapshot is only generated but the subscription is not
synchronized (that's OK). But regenerating all snapshots is a problem for
us, because of large number of publications and theirs size.
Is there any way to bypass this regeneration of snapshots after SP3
installation?
