Sql Server 2000 Memory Management.

    HI there,

    I have Sql Server 2000 standard edition running on Ms-windows 2003 ..

    I had upgraded the ram onthe server from 2 GB to 4 GB. What I need to to do to allow Sql Server recognise/utilise  the additional 2 GB of Ram.

    You need to upgrade to Ent Edition for it to use more than 2GB of RAM

    Also remember that the new 2005 will not have this memory limitation and if you use more than 4GB you'll have to upgrade to 2000 Adv Server or 2003 Ent.

    Also you have to enable the /3GB switch within your boot.ini file so the operating system will only use 1 GB for it's use
