**WANTED** SQL Server DBA/Architect/Modeler/Lead in Philadelphia

  • Any help with the position detailed below would be greatly appreciated!!  Thanks!!

SQL Server DBA/Data Architect/Data Modeler/Technical Team Leader wanted for

this client located outside of Philadelphia.  You must have STRONG data

modeling and architecture skills as well as solid experience as a SQL Server

DBA.  You should have some experience with SQL Server 2000.

You MUST be a US Citizen or permanent resident!  There is NO relocation with

    this position. "Local" candidates ONLY!

This is an EXCITING ground floor opportunity to come in and set up a Global

DBA Group!   They are just beginning to build the infrastructure for the

entire company!  WOW! You will start off having 2-3 people reporting to you.

Ideally you should come out of an applications development background rather

than a systems administration background.  If you have project management

skills that would be helpful, but you can be trained in that area!

This position will be about 75-80% HEAVY data modeling/data architecture and

about 20-25% SQL Server DBA work.

You will need to understand the requirements, project design and

documentation and be able to communicate this to a group of developers.

You will be doing replication, managing the SQL servers and do the core of

    their data modeling and architecture.

You will implement logical and physical data models, manage, support and

troubleshoot the SQL Server environment; help decide what capacity planning

needs to be done, tuning and establishing backup and disaster recovery

    procedures.

What type of data modeling have you done?  Were you involved in new

applications or did you look at existing structures and do modifications

only?   Have you done data loads?  How about full text indexing?  Have you

been totally responsible for setting up the back up process?  These are some

of the questions that will be asked of you during the interviewing process.

You will also need to build a physical data model for this client...can you?

Candidates MUST have experience data modeling to support MULTIPLE departments (not

just one group) and have an ENTERPRISE view of the data. So you need to be

an Enterprise level DBA, not an Applications level DBA.

This client is looking for someone who is looking for a "home" and plans on

staying for a long time.  You must have excellent verbal and written

communication skills.  Base salary up to the mid 90k area.

Anyone interested in this opportunity should send a Word version of his/her resume to:

    brian@careerconnections-us.com.

    Thanks!
