sql server 2k enterprise edition performance with Server 2003 OSs

  • We currently have a 1 terabyte DB on our Sql Server 2000 standard edition. Two of the biggest tables in our DB have blob columns. We are planning to migrate to Sql Server 2000 enterprise edition.

I know there are performances differences with running Sql Server 2000 enterprise edition with various flavors of 2003 Server OS (ie plain, Advanced Server and Data Center).

Can someone provide a brief description of performance of Sql Server 2000 enterprise edition with various flavors of 2003 Server OS (ie plain, Advanced Server and Data Center). If you know of some links that provide info that would also be great.

    Thanks

  • Found a link of 2003 versions comparisions:

I believe the big difference is the amount of hardware it can address (cpu/memory/clustering)
