Linked server permissions read only

    Hi

    I have a  database that I have restored onto a development environment. This database has triggers that change stuff on the production environment

    I want the dev to have read only access to the production server via linked servers

    How do I do this?

    Can't you just set it up so the user it uses to connect to the production server only has read access?
