Did SQL Server cause the server reboot?

    One of our servers rebooted on last Saturday night. There is no SQL Server stack dump file in the LOG folder. Does it (no log file) means SQL Server didn't have any issue? Does it mean the server rebooted due to some other reason (other than SQL Server)?

    The Windows event log says the previous shutdown was unexpected.

    I think it is unlikely that the shutdown was caused by SQL Server and then SQL Server restarted without issues. Did you check the SQL Server error logs?

    And also check the agent jobs that are running prior to the restart if you have any?

    I have checked the SQL Server error log. Nothing unusual is recorded in it.

    Any jobs that is causing it? Whats happening just before the restart? can you see anything?

    Also, something you may have already done, check the System event log around the time of the reboot.
