HOW TO IMPORT DATA FROM ORACLE through SSIS

  • Hi, Can you please help me in understanding how to import the data from Oracle ( Oracle Warehouse Builder ) to MS SQL Server through SSIS. I just want know which all information is required of Oracle in order to create connection string. Is there any article supporting my query ? Thanks for your help.

  • You have to be able to connect to Oracle from the computer you create the SSIS package on as well as the one you run it on later, if different.

So you have to have an Oracle provider and ODBC entry for the database, which matches the tnsnames.ora file record.

When you make a connection manager the editor will create the connection string for you and give you an opportunity to test your connection.
