best decimal value for currency-amount column

    Hai,

    Decimal datatype confuse me a lot... decimal value (30,9) would be far enough to store amount likes of 9999999.9981 ?...

    decimal value (30,9) = A value that will have 30 digits in total ( numbers before point and after point , but excluding the character "point") ; AND there can be as may as 30 - 9 = 21 characters before the decimal point...
