Question on Configuration file

  • I have a SSIS package but i wanted to change the name of the source file....If i go and manually change the name at the connection manager it doesn't save......So to change the name of the file do i have to manually edit the configuration file or is it okay to delete the configuration file and recreate the file

    Thanks,

    Pradeep

  • Either approach will work. It would probably be easier to manually edit the config file.

  • One more question i know the configuration file doesn't store the Username and Password information of the connection string but i guess if u select the option Encrypt sensitive data with password should save the password information so that i dont have to enter the connection string password information everytime i open the package but it seems it didn't save the password information even if i select the option....Did anyone have the same issue before???

    Thanks in advance

You have to manually add the password to the file yourself. That's by design, not because of a problem.
