Should I upgrade SP on SQL Server 2005, one by one?

    All:

    We have SQL Server 2005 (RTM) and plan to upgrade to SP3. Should we install SP from SP1, then SP2 and SP3, or SP3 directly? Which way is safer?

    SQL Server SP 3 is a contains all the previous changes of SP1 and SP2. If you don't have any application compatibility issue, then you can directly apply SP3.

    Take a full backup of the databases before starting the SP3 installation, just a precaution. 🙂
