network security

  • hi

a simple question (yes i've tried googling, no luck!)

i want to silo my cube between three network groups

North - who can only see North data

South - who can only see south

All - who can see both

so...how do i do that and do i need Enterprise edition?

    thanks in advance

The easiest way would be to setup 3 AD (active directory) groups and add the user accounts to the groups. Then you can add 3 roles to you cube (1 for each AD group) and setup security as needed for each group...

    aha, many thanks

    roles are Enterprise aren't they?

  • No roles are for both editions. You assign each role to specific set of data within your dimensions.
