Using ANSI Latin as the Code Page value in Flat file connection manager

  Hi,

  I have been facing trouble using a flat file with ASCII encoding as a source.

  When I specify

  Code Page : ANSI - Latin I

  in Flat File Connection Manager Editor

  then my Flat File Source component complains:

  The data type for "output column "Flat File Source Error Output Column" (37)" is DT_NTEXT, which is not supported with ANSI files. Use DT_TEXT instead and convert the data to DT_NTEXT using the data conversion component.

  When I try to do as mentioned in the error message above, it does not allow me to change the Flat File Source Error Output Column data type to DT_TEXT, complaining

  Property value is not valid,

  The data type for "output "Flat File Source Error Output" (3)" cannot be modified in the error "output column "Flat File Source Error Output Column" (37)".

  Alternatively, is there a way to change text file encoding from SSIS? I am beginning another thread for this question anyways.

  me Facing same problems

  actually i used the table having column with XML Datatype as Source and destination as Flat file

  so i got same error as u have..

  anybody plz help me to solve this problem
