After few days my backups failed with the following error:
Operating system error 1130(Not enough server storage is available to process this command).
I perform my backups on the network.
I have enough free space to perform backup on the destination server.
If I try to backup my databses localy it works.
Can someone help me?

Check the event logs to see if anything else may be there. There are a few messages that don't help a lot in the SQL error logs but the event written to the event viewer logs usually helps.
Also, does your destination have a size constraint on the location. For instance you can setup Novell servers to allow a user x number of bytes on the server and no more.

In the event log there arn't other errors and the account wich sql runs is the administrator of the destination server. Anyway there are not restrictions for sql account.
I was thinking if the origin of the operating system error 1130 is generated by some hardware changes after istalling sp3 windows 2000.
So the solution could be to reintall the sp3.

I had a similar issue (not with sp3) but it was because someone had changed the actual directory to the default dir eg (\mssql\backup\) as opposed to a drive that was made specifically for backups, which in this case had not enough space. My first suggestion would be to try and backup the databases to the network drive individually as opposed to backing them up locally. HTH 🙂

yes i backup the databases to the network drive individually and seems to work. anyway the directory of the backup hasn't change. So i still don't understand why the error.
I think i'm going to analyze the event viewer of the destination server. Maybe i will find somenting.

If the free disk space where you want to save the backup is between 12 Gb and 13 Gb om the network drive check MS Knowledge Base Article 301913.
