I've just started learning SQL Server 2000 with the aid of Books Online (the one that is available with SQL installation). But can someone suggest some sites where i could learn to write query.

You have hit the jackpot. This site has several areas where you can post questions and get a quick response. I would suggest that you read http://www.aspfaq.com/etiquette.asp?id=5006 . If you do not have specific questions I would suggest that you follow the threads here and attempt to answer the questions and then use the posted answers as a check on your own work. Or join the discussion and ask someone to clarifier their response.

While Micheal is right you might wanna learn some more basic stuff first (you'll just be lost for too long in the tsql forum). I'd suggest this tutorial : http://www.w3schools.com/sql/default.asp

Its hot here and I need a vacation in the mountains which will not happen until sometime in October unless it gets postponed till next June. so
to you. 
But it could be worse with no lap top you can not stop in 10 or 20 times a day to remind us of the fun you are having.Enjoy

Let's you and I (as scc.com is our witness) place a bet right now - I say that though Remi's post counts may decrease slightly (per day ie), it is not going to be a very significant decrease!!! (I win - I get a cherry pie - you win - you get the singing blackbirds)...
btw, since we ARE discussing vacations - I'm heading to the Caribbean smack in the beginning of the hurricane season (cheap discounts - go figure!!!) so my days on scc (as well as terra firma) may well be numbered! 🙁

A vacation only takes place when you leave home. Otherwise you still have to put in the dog and let out the cat, cut the grass and since you are not doing anything paint the house.
The mountins in October are beautiful. They look like some threw buckets of different colored paint on them (Red, Gold, Yellow).
It looks like everyone is going on vacation except me.
One of the problems of working for yourself is that when your boss is being a total ass you can not complain to your friends.
