Telephone Interview Tips

  • Dear Gurus,

I working as a MS SQL DBA in a small company. Last week I attended an interview, which i have cleared the first round, The second round will be on Tuesday 06/12/2005, telephonic interview from Florida .

Please Please Please give me your valuable tips regarding it. I've no idea about telephonic interviews.

    Advance thanks to all.

    JK.

  • Key thing is not to stress about it!

Talk naturally about whatever topics they bring up.  You can do whatever you like - if you are a pacer, then pace around   Have a list of questions ready that you may wish to ask, or have some quick notes/answers written down about topics/questions they may wish to discuss.  I assume there won't be much technical content over the phone, so just remember the key thing - don't stress too much about it, remember that you are on the phone conversing with someone - so keep the conversation going

    AND GOOD LUCK!

  • I notice that you are located in chennai but the phone interview is from Florida...was your first interview (the only you cleared) a face-to-face one ?! Will you be relocating or is this an outsourcing job ?!

Usually the phone interviews come first where the HR person is checking to see if your experience matches the requirements or not and then comes the actual interview...

how long did the first interview last and what were the questions that you were asked ?! That might help shed some light on the phone one...!!!

**ASCII stupid question, get a stupid ANSI !!!**

  • Hi Gurus,

    Thanks for your tips.

The first technical interview (face to face)went around more than 1 and half hours with three members panel. After a week i was informed to attend 2'nd telephone technical interview from Florida(Head Office), that will going to happen on tuesday(06/12/2005).

    Additional suggestions would be appreciated.

    thanks

    JK.
