I have created a report from scratch with RS2000, and added 3 levels of grouping. I want to make it drill down report, but when I try to add a toggle report item for the visibility I can only see items 2 or more layers above. For example when hiding the details, the toggle report item list only shows the text boxes for the headers of group 1 and 2 (but not 3), and if I try to hide group 3 the toggle list only shows the text box for the group 1 header.
The drill down works fine if I create the report with the wizard instead. Can someone please tell me why I cannot set the drill down without using the report wizard?

Mark, as you know from previous conversations, I don't have RS2000 available to check this.. JIC you don't hear from somebody who does, here is how I would try to figure it out:
* -- create the report with the wizard, creating as many levels of drill-down as you do in the "real" report
* -- do an XML-DIFF to see what's different between the RDLs.
* -- Once you know what option the wizard is "automagically" setting that you are not setting, try to figure out where the RS2000 hid this setting in its Designer interface.
* -- If you can't find it, you can post the XML attribute or element that is being set differently; you might even find a KB article specifically on this point with this schema information in-hand.

I'm continuing this post from a Half year ago - Mark if you've found the answer i hope to hear from you.
Likewise I'm using SQLServer 2000 reporting services and I cannot get the drill downs to work. One additional bit of information - I loaded, compiled and deployed the Territory Sales Drilldown from the Reporting Services Samples directory and, happily, it does not work either.
I'm hoping the fix is as simple as maybe a service patch - if anyone out there has any ideas please let me know.

Hi Frank. Sorry but I never found what was causing the problem. I had to use the report wizard in order to get the drill down to work.
