SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express

    I've downloaded this from MS for use with my SQL2000 db's and am finding that I can't access any of the jobs,etc that would be stored under the management tab in EM normally.

    Is this due to the version of the Management Studio I'm using or is there some secret toggle I should have checked somewhere along the way?

    SSMS Express was designed to be used with SQL Server Express.  SQL Server Express does not have SQL Agent which manages the jobs.  This is the most likely reason why you can't do what you want to do.

    Rick is exactly right. You can't manage jobs, nor maintenance plans with SSMS Express.
