migrating a sql server 2000

    hello,

    was wondering if you can move an existing sql 2000 server to another sql 2000 server, which has a different name. basically, i need to copy all the databases from SERVERNAME1, to SERVERNAME2. servername1 will remain in production, as well as servername2.

    what would be the process for this? can i just backup servername1 databases and restore on servername2? are there any other steps that i need to perform?

    On point to note, if the servers are in different domains, you will need to ensure you extract security details from source server and apply to target. Here is a link for that as well:
