Startup of SSRS - Report Manager

    Hi all,

    I have SSRS deployed on a virtual server. When logging into Report Manager it takes ages to initially startup (and sometimes during the day). Does anyone know of any settings in Reporting Services or IIS I should be changing to improve the initial startup performance.

    alternatively we had much the same with SSMS but rather than give the machine internet access we made sure we had the following entries in the machines host file

    127.0.0.1 localhost

    127.0.0.1 crl.microsoft.com

    this causes it to fail this element and opening SSMS is a lot quicker. These might be worth a try..
