Synchronizing a Merge Replication

  Is the "Start Synchronizing" the same as simply starting the Merge agent?

  Here is the long version to my quesion:

  Using Enterprise Manager, if I right click on my publication and choose "Start Synchronizing" is that the same as right clicking on my Merge agent and choosing "Start Agent"?

  As I understand it, yes.  Both start the merge agent.  I've done it both ways.
