sqlExpress won''t install until servicePack is installed

    hiya,

    sqlExpress goes thru a config check to ensure that the machine is suitable.

    It informs me that i need to install the lates updates.I install latest updates then reboot.The sqlExpress config check fails at the SAME point.

    I've no idea how to troubleshoot this, and I insanely tried to call MS but had to give up.

    If anyone can help / can show me the best place to get in contact with MS via email, I'd be really grateful.

    Can you provide any more details on what you're experiencing. As for minimum requirements, you'll need WinXP SP1, Win2K SP4, or Win2K3 SP1. Also, you need Windows Installer 3.1. You can find the hardware and software requirements at: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms130214.aspx.

    hiya,I seem to have the min reqs for XP, according to what you say: "WinXP SP1"
