once .

You can use database maintenance plan. If you are using single maintenance plan, make sure you are using the same recovery model for all the databases. However it is better to have separate maintenance plans for user and system databases.

If you've the backup tool like veritas or sql litespeed or redgate ..its much easier to do this in one shot...

Yes we can do that with the help of maintenence plan.
And also typical design is that a job is created for taking the backup for all the system databases once and all the user datbases once.
