SQL 2005 STD EDITION MEMORY & processor config PROBLEM

  • Thanks Elisabeth for the last reply.

what about the error found in sql error log even if we have 4 processor(16 logical) and 16 gb ram:

    " 16 processor & 4096 mb ram detected"

1)Should i enable the /3 gb switch also in boot.ini of windows to enable the addresable memory of 3 gb to user mode processes?

    2) how do i allocate 16 processor for my sql or winodws so that everything should be run in balanced way ?

should i enable io affinity mask , priority, max degree of parallelism, qeury threshold etc. or should i keep it on default settings.

    Please suggest

  • Please don't start a new thread for an existing problem. People who encounter it without reading the original won't have a clue what's going on.

What's the setup, what's the server's hardware, what's the question? Or, preferably, post a link to the original thread and people can reply there.
