Transfering Login's between sql2000 and sql2005

  • I restored a sql2000 database onto a server using sql2005. The restored database is under a new name. What is the best way to transfer the logins into the sql2005 server?

  • There is a script to do just this on the microsoft site look for sp_helprevlogin in google

  • You could do this by using DTS package with logins transfer option or else you can do with this store procedure. I had done both ways successfully.

  • The issue wasn't the scripits they work te problem was the authentifiation mode it was set to NT only...
