'Log Shipping Alert Job - Restore' Fails

  • Hi All,

Can any please tell me what is the reason that Iam getting below error message inspite of configuring all the settings correctly.

Well, Iam having two sql server 2000 developer editions[ RTM- No Service Pack] intanceces on my local pc which is having windows xp prof with sp2.

Both primary server and standby server are sql 2000 dev editions [RTM].

SQL Server Scheduled Job 'Log Shipping Alert Job - Restore' (0x81880CC6DFE0824D85FA7C49730917CF) - Status: Failed - Invoked on: 2009-05-12 19:39:01 - Message: The job failed. The Job was invoked by Schedule 14 (Log Shipping Alert Job - Restore). The last step to run was step 1 (Log Shipping Alert Job - Restore).

The log shipping destination DELW100029\INSTANCEDEV2K2.pubs1 is out of sync by 132 minutes.

    My queries:

    1. Is that the reason that my server server is RTM one (without any SP).

    2. Can I configure logshipping using developer editions. (Both the servers).

    3. Or do I missed any security thing.

    Thanks,

    DRaj

  • Hi,

Check the status/history of the log shipping restore job (usually called something like ls_restore) for specific details as to why the restore process has failed/not completed.
