regarding log file

    Hi,

    When i am trying to start the mirroring process, it says Microsoft SQL Server error 1413. The size of my transaction log file(principal) is around 8GB. ( I know, if the transaction log file is large the mirroring server takes more than 10 seconds to scan the transaction log, a time-out error occurs)....please help me....

    It looks like you've already identified the issue causing the error. The workaround is to shrink the log file so the scan finishes within the 10 second window or to apply the hotfix/service pack that resolves this issue. See KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947462. I would vote for shrinking the log file to establish the mirroring session then growing it back to 8 GB or whatever size you determine is appropriate.
