how to take the back up for the jobs

    Hi all,

    I have the crash in the test server i want to take backup for jobs and also i want to take the backup jobs for the live server also,

    I have to shut down the services also please help me on this topic

    Can you elaborate a little bit more on your problem so someone can help you?

    Are you trying to take a backup of the jobs from Production live server?

    If you just want to backup the jobs, you can script the jobs.

    Here is a link that shows you how to do it.

    What happened to the test server? Do you have backups?

    I'm still confused as to what is being asked. How about more detail instead of a single line vaguely worded question. What are you trying to do?

    Agree with Lynn, it's vague to give a straight answer.

    If you need to get the jobs on the test server, you could get it back from latest backup of msdb (if you have one)..

    If you get the jobs scripted from production server beware, they might be different, since your production server might have Log backup Job at every 10 minutes which you may not need on the Test Server..

    Not only this there might be many other things that would fail on the test server if you just script from the prod and move to test server...
