Missing Indexes (suggestions from SSMS 2005 Execution Plan)

    Hi,

    In 2008 if you display the actual execution plan SSMS would display missing indexes. I know this feature is in SQL 2005 but its hidden and I was wondering if any of you guys know where it is.

    In the XML plan. I believe (no 2005 any longer) that you can right-click the plan and there's an option for the XML.

    Don't take these missing indexes as correct. They're the same as appear in the missing index DMVs, an indication of where to start, not where to end.
