I created one AD group. Added myself to the group. Created SQL login based on that group from Admin account. Created user based on that SQL login. I'm still not able to connect to SQL 2008. Any suggestions ?

have a look at the Management Logs on SQL server, there will be an entry that will correspond to you access problem this will have a code that will give you the reason for the login failure.
This is assuming that SQL server is setup correctly and running.

what error are you getting???
Check if IP Firewall is blocking your AD Group account??
