Does Sql Server clustering increasing data access performance?

    Clustering allowing one physical server to take over tasks and responsibilities of another physical server that is failed.

    Does clustering also increasing the data access performances?

    If yes then how?

    Clustering is solely a high-availability solution, it has no impact on performance at all.

    As Gail said, Clustered Servers is a High Availability solution. If you want multiple servers to increase performance, you probably want "Federated Servers". Please Google the following phrase for multiple Microsoft and other decent links to the subject.
