October 2012 – Monthly SQL Server Checklist

,

Checklist

October already.  The PASS Summit is coming soon and we’re entering the time of the year that many of us dig in to learn something new.  When it comes to learning something new, we often will focus on what is interesting, new or unique.  But what about learning about something that you might not be doing so well with your SQL Server environment?

That, of course, begs the question of what is going wrong, or not quite right, withing your environment?  If no one is complaining, does that mean nothing is going wrong?  Well to find out, you should be regularly checking up everything to determine the state of your environment.

To do that, check out the update Monthly SQL Server Checklist.  Instead of maintaining a monthly post that changes each month, I’ve moved the list to a permanent page that you return to each month for ease of access.  You can also find a link to the checklist on TechNet on the Related Resources panel.

Something Missing?

Is there something missing in this list that you think should be included?  Leave a comment and I’ll add it in for next month.
