permissions denied

  • Hey,

the permissions of the SSRS drive my crazy...

I created a local group 'report1' on the SQL Server. In the local group I added me 'xxx\olaf' as member.

On the single Report I am 'Browser' over the group 'report1'. That works fine.

    But I can't open the site 'http://report-server/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx'

Even when I put the group 'report1' to siteadministrator.

The user "xxx\olaf" does not have the required permissions. Make sure that sufficient permissions are granted and the limitations of the Windows User Account Control (UAC) were treated.

When I put 'xxx\olaf' to the local administrator (on the SQL Serfver) everyting is fine too. But this is not what I want.

    Any idea?

    regards

    Olaf

  • Try running IE as admin to get around UAC, if that's your problem question with you sysadmins / security personnel as to weather or not UAC is a requirement for your company.

  • All done this,

    - IE run as Administrator

    - UAC is out

    - I am locked on as local Admin on the maschine via rdp

    - restart the service everytime.

    nothing worked 🙁

    The system: Win2012R2 with SQL2016

  • Might be an issue with 2016, you running the most recent CTP?

Not had chance to install and play with 2016 yet so all stabs in the dark.

  • I think that this is not a problem of the 2016.

On an other maschine (2008 + SQL2014) I have the same problem.

Seems that I done something basically wrong.

  • Have you given permissions at the root and worked them down the folder structure, or given them at the individual report level?

  • That's stupid...

The root folder have also permissions... :crying:

That's what I say: When you done everything right, things are working....
