Maximum number of SQL error logs on Linux

  • Hi,
Does any one know how I can change the setting for the Maximum number of SQL error logs for SQL Server on Linux? and how to programmatically (T-SQL or SQL) get the value that's set on Linux?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • I don't know that you can set it yet.  I have the very latest build and it does not let me set it, even with the GUI tools of SSMS.

Not sure when you will be able to change it.

I guess its too early to try SQL Server on Linux...

  • There was a Microsoft webinar about SQL Server on Linux a couple weeks back. One of the things they mentioned when porting SQL Server over to Linux was the need to change some of the OS specific aspects of parts of SQL Server so it could target a middleware part of the database engine that can work no matter what OS the database engine is on. I am guessing that this some functionality that has not been updated yet but that will be.

Why? Part of the reason of trying releases that are in CTP's is to identify things like this and provide feedback to the product team. Who knows? They may even answer you back with an estimated timeline for fixing it.
