Moving Distributor over to new server

    Hi,

    I currently have snapshot replication running and my publisher and distributor both sit on the same server.

    I want to move my distributor to another server.

    How can I do this?

    Is it just a matter of stopping replication and then using attach/detach to move the Distribution database over onto the new server?

    Will there be any data loss?

    There is an article here a SSC about this very thing. I cannot verify its validity but I doubt Steve and Co. would allow it to be published here if it wasn't vetted.
