Which version of SQL Server?
If SQL 6.5 it is the Configuration Option 'tempdb in ram'
7 or later is no longer supported.

It is SQL 2000. So it is not possible... 🙁

No they feel it is well optimized and that there is no reason to do this. (Says so in BOL in their own words).
If you are looking to see if you can speed it up a bit then consider setting up a seperate array (RAID 0 if not worried about drive stop stopping server, RAID 10 preferred if you need high uptime) and placing tempdb by itself on the array.
