Remote distributor for clustered S2K 2000 publisher

  • Anyone know of a reason why I can't or shouldn't use a remote distributor database for transactional replication of a clustered S2K 2000 sp3a publisher database?  Thought I saw something somewhere that said a clustered publisher needs a local distributor but I can't find the reference now or I might have misread the reference ... Thanks

  • You must have misread, I run a remote distribution cluster for a couple of my clustered publication nodes without any problems. In fact performance replication wise was vastly improved by doing so.

  • I've been running replication on a clustered server for over 1 year >>> No Problems. Got a great performance boost too .

Go for it >> >> cluster.

    Enjoy
