Disk corrupted in always on

  • One of the disk corrupted where the database files are placed and those databases are configured in always on. What is the status of the databases, is any dependency is there at disk level on the databases where they are placed in AG ?

    Check is it primary or secondary and fix the disk failure with storage admin if they can from snap or backup.
    If you have a primary node available, you can remove from ag and restore it to separate disk or create a new disk in same letter (Or from database backup).

    if you use always on, you are able to do this with local disk, without SAN or something like that.

    Shared device storage is not mandatory, but you need storage to store a db files.  I suggest you to read always on series in ssc.
