Help turning off replication

  • Hi,

We have a production system that we're developing for but not allowed to go near - so I can't see how the server is set up for replication etc, I've been given a backup to develop/test with, this took 4 weeks of requests/form filling etc so I'm reluctant to go back with a new request for an unreplicated backup.

I've restored the backup on my local system, into a new database.  The DB is 2Gb data and 5Gb log - after 2 weeks of running manual transactions (can't be more than a few thousand) - the log has increased to 7.5Gg - I tried to shrink the log using a shrink log script found from these forums, based on a microsoft support article, however that script fails saying there are records at the beginning of the log pending replication.

I don't have replication set up, so I can't think how to turn it off,

I've tried sp_repldone - this returns 1 (failure) with the message "The database is not published"

I'm fast running out of disk space - has anyone any ideas?

    Thanks

    Tom
