    Depending on the version of Windows you are using and the version and edition of SQL Server, not all of the pre-requisite software is included in the SQL Install media.

    See http://sqlserverfinebuild.codeplex.com/documentation#Install SQL Pre Install Tasks for a list of what is needed and if you need to download it. If you decide to not use FineBuild to do your install then you will need to install the components you downloaded yourself.
