My place of work is entirely Linux based with developers using MacBooks. I installed Powershell and do find it useful for some things.
The problem is that although I find it useful for my personal needs there is always the pressure to find a Linux shell solution as everyone has that by default.
With the Windows Linux Subsystem I think there would be less resistance to using both Powershell and a Linux shell.
When I first started to use Linux I found that the various shell utilities (grep, awk, tr, uniq etc) were manna from heaven. I wrote it up in Bash for ETL processing.
What I am finding now is that scripted ELT is becoming more popular and with it command line utilities are adding real value.
