  • You really only need the last 1 or 2 full backups and the t-Log backups for those. Backup everything to tape once every day and delete anything more than 2 full backups old. You can create a maintenance plan that will do this "auto-magically".

    If the company doesn't have a tape backup, tell them to buy one and then ship recorded tapes to a place offsite. Keeping backups locally is a form of corporate suicide especially in bad weather, earthquake, tsunami, and fire zones.
