SQL Server DB mail authentication issue

    Hello,

    I have a db mail account with basic auth. It's a domain account.

    Every now and then it seems like SQL Server suddenly "forgets" the password that was entered and when it's trying to send an email it causes error 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated and it locks the account.

    Does anyone have a clue what could cause this dementia-like behavior?
