Hi All
Is it suggested to implement replication for an existing Production server that also caters to the Reporting on Web using Crystal Reports?
we have a production server, in which the reports are viewed and this is causing the server to slow down while viewing reports.
And the thing is these reports are accessed by customers very often.
Please advise on this matter.

Always a good idea to do your reporting from a separate server if you can. Transactional replication is a great solution, low latency and low overhead. Not only do you offload some of the work, but you can index differently to support your reporting needs.

Thanks for your suggestion, but one doubt i have is ..Would the transactional replication affect the main Production server while performing replication at very regular intervals, as there would be lot of transactions going on.I would like to have some more insight into it before actually planning that.Actually we have Implemented clustering for our production server, and are using Raid level 5.
My question is ..would we be able to go ahead with the transaction replication or do we need Load balancing server or any?
I would appreciate you views regarding this.

transactional isn't that much overhead, especially if you move teh distribvutor to another server. What's a lot of transactions? I've had this work in a few solutions as the overhead for replication is pretty low.
