Can anyone please explain to me how this works.
I know it stores a password for ISQL to use but 'for the current session'?
How long is that?
Also does anyone know where environment variables like these are stored ?
Thanks in advance

I do not believe this is stored. The current session is as long as you are connected with isql. When you "quit" of disconnect, the password is not stored any longer, AFAIK.

There is always the -E switch for a trusted connection.
