Status: Performing completion actions.....

    A programmer ran a DTS package that is no longer showing up under Process Info, however, it is still showing under SQL Server Agent, Jobs with Status: Performing completion actions. It has been this way for over 2 hours but I am reluctant to kill the job.

    Does the job contain any e-mail notification? If so, maybe try it without such notification and see if it runs to completion.

    Been there ! take a look inside the process and check if it's trying to send notification mails. If the mail server is down (or other problems related to mail sent) the job remains in that state

    Thanks for your replies. We are having a lot of trouble getting email off that server - I am working with MS tech support as we speak.

    How can I get rid of the job that is still << Performing completion actions >>? There is no PID under Current activity.
