The real question is how do I monitor a 'database up' event in SQL 2000. Database going down alerts are working...but not when it comes back up. I'm trying to alert on error 17162. I see this event in the event log but I'm not receiving notification. I believe this is a timing issue due to the fact that event probably occurs prior to the agent starting.
Anyone have any other ideas as to events that I might want to monitor to indicate that a database is back up and running?
