SQL Server Book Recommendations?

  • I have decided to study for the 70-228 (SQL Server 2000 Administration) and 70-229 (SQL Server 2000 Design/Development) tests.  I have been researching tons of books on on Amazon.com, but I have consistently found that the SQL Server books are getting really bad reviews.

I'm not sure if this is because the books are really no good, or if us RDBMS people are more picky than the average OS guru (whose books often received great reviews).

Anyway, if anyone else has prepared for either of the above exams and has a strong feeling about a book you've used, I would love any suggestions.

    Thanks

  • I have the original MS training books, which I consider fairly good. Apart from them, do a search here in the fora (especially the certification forum). The question for good books on SQL Server (not particularly on these exams) is a FAQ in almost any community. So, you should find very easily out which are more recommended and which one are less recommended. Since I am still uneasy if I should take these exams, too, may I say, that more important than books are practise test and sample exams.
