Unable to begin a distributed transaction

    Hi gurus

    I have a link server created for Oracle using ORacle ODBC driver

    It works fine with SELECT's and plain insert and updates

    BUT if BEGIN TRANSACTION and COMMIT is sued it gives the below error.

    Please help

    The operation could not be performed because the OLE DB provider 'MSDAORA' was unable to begin a distributed transaction.

    OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'MSDAORA' ITransactionJoin::JoinTransaction returned 0x8004d01b].

    once you start a transaction, the DTC is engaged. Be sure that DTC is installed and running.
