I noticed on twitter that someone mention it, but no source news, no press release from sqlsaturday or PASS website. What happen? I want to know more. I am a fan of both PASS and sql saturday.
can someone post the original link to the news source? Thanks.

We gave the SQLSaturday event and infrastructure to PASS. I'm sure they'll announce it at some point today or tomorrow.
We are hoping PASS will continue to grow this into even more events around the world.

I would settle for Salt Lake City or Las Vegas

It's up to someone to run the events in a city. Jeff, if you can find a few people to help organize one in Detroit, it's not that hard to get one going.
SQLSaturday is a weird franchise. It was a lot of fun to run, and it was successful, but it didn't generate any $$. It really wasn't worth any $$ to buy it. Plus it fits with PASS. We were happy to have them run it, and I hope they continue to build it up.

Hmmm. Gonna have to start coercing people to get one going in my area. It sounds like a lot of fun.
