Low Tech Repeating Tasks in Trello

,

I mentioned in earlier posts that I’m using Trello this year for managing SQLSaturday tasks and figured I might as well go all in and add some of the related stuff, especially the recurring tasks. You can do that with a repeating card PowerUp or Butler depending on how you license Trello (at the free level you only get one). My solution for now is to just add a final task to the checklist that says “make the next card”. Not fancy, but it works, and for those of you wanting to experiment it doesn’t force you into spending cash until you’re sure.

Writing cards is a little bit like documentation, it’s often hard to get the right level of detail and keep it usable. I do think checklists make all the difference in usability, especially if you’re handing the task off to someone.
